Mason Mount has reflected on Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Club America in Las Vegas, which saw his stunning strike seal the victory to mark their pre-season schedule with a victory.
With seven minutes remaining at the Allegiant Stadium, the 23-year-old collected a ball from Marcos Alonso on the edge of the box, he found some space and sweetly struck a bending effort past Oscar Jimenez to put the Blues back ahead.
Timo Werner initially gave Chelsea the lead, scoring at the second time of asking following a Reece James cut-back.

James’ assist was undone five minutes later on the hour mark when he passed it beyond Marcus Bettinelli into his own net to bring Club America level.
But Mount’s screamer, having come on at half-time after Thomas Tuchel made 11 changes at the interval, ensured Chelsea began their United States tour with a win.
It’s a reoccurring habit for Mount to produce moments of brilliance, game deciding moments, and he was left in high spirits at full-time after being handed the Man of the Match award.
Speaking to the media after the match, the England international said: “It’s been a brilliant week training in the US, the fans have been unbelievable. We love being here.

“I don’t know if it was top bins, it was close. When I hit the ball, when I looked up, I was very happy that it went in. We got the second goal and the win. The most important thing today was really working on our off the ball stuff, our physical ability to run and I thought we did that.
“They are a top team, they work so hard. They made us run, play to the best of our ability. We are happy to come out with the win and put on a show for all of these fans.”
Chelsea now head to Charlotte and Orlando to face Charlotte FC and Arsenal next week in their two remaining games of their tour of America before flying back to England.

It was a learning curve for the Blues who stepped up their fitness with match minutes to boost the tank as preparations continue for their Premier League opener against Everton on 6 August.
