Chelsea’s pre-season training is underway and Mason Mount has set his targets for goals and assists for the 2022/23 campaign.
The upcoming season is rapidly approaching and there are just over three weeks remaining until the first gameweek of the Premier League kicks-off.
Mount is looking forward to a season of new challenges and goals to achieve and will be hopeful to continue where he left off last year.
He netted a total of 13 goals and provided 16 assists in all competitions and while Chelsea narrowly missed out on both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, Mount helped the Blues lift both the Super Cup and Club World Cup.

His superb performances resulted in him earning the club’s Player of the Season award for the second year running, confirming his place as one of, if not Thomas Tuchel’s most valuable player.
Speaking to the official Chelsea website, Mount touched upon how little time off he has had this summer: “I always like to keep ticking over a little bit by doing training.
"In Portugal, with Chelsea Under-23s when they were there, I joined in a little shooting drill with them.

“When you keep ticking over it helps when you first come back to not feel too far behind.”
He added: “I was just buzzing to get back with the boys, to get back with all the staff, to really get back working hard and get the season running.
"We've got a good few games here in America, a great few weeks, so we'll enjoy it.”
The Blues will take on Club America, Charlotte FC and Arsenal during their pre-season tour in the United States, before they make their way back to Cobham and continue preparations for the new season.

Mount has high ambitions for the upcoming campaign and will be hoping to improve to a higher level than he has ever been at before.
He detailed: “I set targets for what I want to achieve goals-wise, assists-wise, competitive-wise as a team.
“If I reach those targets then I know that my level is going to be high and I'm going to be performing.

"That's what I look at and when I sit down before a season and try to set my targets, I want to achieve more. That's always been my goal and my focus before a season.”
Whether Mount can build on and better his returns from last season won’t be known until the latter stages of next season, but he is destined for another crucial role in Tuchel’s side as they look to mount a Premier League title challenge.
For now, the focus is on pre-season, getting ready and in the best possible shape for the opener against Everton on 6 August.
