Chelsea have confirmed Marc Cucurella’s squad number in a now deleted video following his £63 million move from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 24-year-old completed his move after a dramatic twist in the tale after Brighton took to Twitter to deny reports of a transfer fee being agreed on Wednesday evening.
However, the Blues confirmed the transfer on Friday afternoon, shortly after Thomas Tuchel admitted that they were hoping to sign the player.

Speaking to the press ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday evening, Tuchel discussed the Spaniard’s move to Chelsea.
He remained coy on the move, stating: “It’s not done yet. I don’t want to tell you that I know nothing. The paperwork is in process and hopefully we can get it finished before noon and Marc is our player.

“He is a fantastic, young player. Hungry, mobile, very intelligent player. Can play several positions in our system, that’s why we hope the transfer goes through and then if it goes through, it opens some options like for Levi Colwill to maybe find some more game time elsewhere.”
Colwill was also officially confirmed to be departing the Blues on a season-long loan move to Brighton as part of the transfer.
The 19-year-old will spend the season on the south coast before hoping to return to Tuchel’s squad to fight for his place in the starting line-up for next season, with plenty of Premier League football under his belt.
In the meantime, Cucurella will join Tuchel’s squad and look to make the left wing-back position his own, while also being able to provide competition on the left of a back three.

With his signing confirmed, Cucurella is yet to have been officially presented with his squad number.
However, in a video released by Chelsea, which has now been deleted, the Blues leaked his numbers.
Taking to Twitter, the Blues uploaded a video which showed the wing-back donning the number 32 shirt on his back.

However, the club soon deleted this video and reuploaded an edited version, with the number on the back of his shirt edited out.
It remains to be seen as to whether the defender will take the number for the new season, with Marcos Alonso’s future thrown into doubt.
The current number three is heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, with the Spanish side said to be closing in on a deal for the wing-back.
Therefore, with the three up for grabs, Cucurella could still change his number ahead of the upcoming season.
