Levi Colwill and Ethan Ampadu are both ready to compete in the first team squad at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel next season.
The duo are just two of the Blues’ players who are returning from their loan spells last season and hoping to stake their claim in the senior side for the new campaign.
Colwill spent last term on loan at Championship outfit Huddersfield Town and helped them to reach the play-off final, only for the Terriers to lose to Nottingham Forest.

Over on the continent Ampadu featured for Serie A side Venezia last season, making 30 appearances for them as they failed to maintain their top flight status.
Both are now on tour with the rest of the Chelsea squad for their pre-season schedule out in the United States, with a series of friendlies set to be played in the coming days.
The Blues are already set to complete a defensive signing this summer, with Kalidou Koulibaly arriving from Napoli on a four-year-deal.

Such a transfer raised questions over Colwill’s future at the club, especially with the added links to Presnel Kimpembe, Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde.
However, according to the Guardian, the Cobham academy graduate is eager to see whether or not boss Thomas Tuchel will give him opportunities in the first team next season.
Colwill made a total of 32 appearances for Huddersfield in the previous campaign and scored two goals for the Yorkshire side, proving to be one of their most important players.
It was his first loan spell away from the club, but he could already be set to feature for the senior side at Stamford Bridge next season should Tuchel think he’s ready.

Fellow youngster Ampadu is also keen to make an impression on the German boss in the new campaign, as revealed in an interview with the official club website.
The 19-year-old said: “Everybody just wants to be on the pitch and thankfully I feel comfortable playing in more than one position. Hopefully I can get onto the pitch this season for Chelsea and help out the side.
“Wherever Thomas needs me, I’d be happy to play there. I’m more than comfortable playing, whether that’s at centre-back, in midfield or at right wing-back.

“It’s a big year for me with the World Cup with Wales as well and I think because we’ve qualified for this, on the back of a couple of Euros qualifications, it shows where we are heading as a nation.
“It was an unreal night (qualifying) and an unreal feeling and something we are all looking forward to. We’ve all said it before, but it really is a dream come true to qualify for a World Cup and all eyes on November.”
