There has been no contact between FC Barcelona and Jorginho despite his Chelsea contract expiring in 2023 amid Juventus rumours, according to reports in Spain.
The Chelsea vice-captain has been key to the Blues' midfield so far this season, with Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante struggling with injuries in the early part of the campaign.
Making six appearances and scoring a goal so far, Jorginho has captained the side several times in the absence of Cesar Azpilicueta.

However, his future is still in the balance despite his importance to the Chelsea team.
The Italian is yet to sign an extension to keep him at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer of 2023.
Chelsea have also been heavily linked with a move for midfield reinforcements in future windows as it is believed that they will return for Ajax's Edson Alvarez in January.

Furthermore, Jude Bellingham remains a long-term target for the Blues, and the arrival of these midfielders could signal the end for Jorginho.
Ultimately, the final decision will be down to Graham Potter and the Chelsea board, with both Jorginho and Kante able to negotiate moves for the summer from January onwards.
This leaves the club in a similar situation to last season, with both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger deparrting on free transfers in the summer.

Barcelona are the latest team to be linked with the midfielder despite Juventus' long-standing interest in bringing Jorginho back to Italy.
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri wanted to sign Chelsea midfielder Jorginho in the summer transfer window, but the Italian had no interest in the move.
He instead opted to remain at Chelsea, where he has lifted the Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Europa League and Champions League during his time at the club.

It has now been revealed by journalist Matteo Moretto that Jorginho is not in contact with Barcelona, either.
He wrote: "To day of today there has been no contact between Jorginho and the Barcelona."
The journalist continued to reveal that instead, Jorginho wishes to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
"The priority of the Italian, whose contract ends in 2023, is to renew with Chelsea," he concluded.

It remains to be seen as to what the future holds for the Italian, but his priority has been made clear and Chelsea must now make a decision.
