Inter Milan chief Giuseppe Marotta has delivered on update on Romelu Lukaku's Chelsea future following the departure of Thomas Tuchel.
The Belgian striker returned to the Italian side on loan this summer after a turbulent time at Stamford Bridge last season.
Having moved from Inter to Chelsea in a sensational transfer worth £97.5 million just a year ago things really did not go to plan under the management of Tuchel.

While things started smoothly when the 29-year-old netted against Arsenal in his first game, it did not take long for things to fall apart. The goals dried up and when the attacker expressed his desire to return to Inter one day, he was in and out of the team and a move away was inevitable.
His total of 13 goals in all competitions last season was underwhelming and not what Blues fans had expected. Any sort of relationship he had with the head coach deteriorated due to his unhappiness at the club and it looked likely he may never return.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Tuchel was sacked on Wednesday morning.
Just six games into the Premier League season and a week after the transfer window closed, the Blues opted to cut their ties to the German due to having different visions.
On Thursday, Graham Potter was confirmed to be the one to replace Tuchel as the club's head coach.
He completed the switch from Brighton & Hove Albion and signed a five-year contract with the club.

This could mean there is another opportunity for Lukaku at Chelsea should all parties want it. Inter Milan's chief, Marotta, has even hinted that he may complete a return to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, Marotta said: "It's fresh news. I don't know what the effects of the change of coach will be (for Lukaku's future).

"We want to get the best performance out of Lukaku, and then at the end of the season we will sit down and talk about him with Chelsea."
He continued: "I don't know if a change of coach means that his return is automatic, it's difficult to predict today."
Since his arrival back in Serie A, Lukaku has found the back of the net once and he has provided an assist.
While the Blues lost Timo Werner as well as Lukaku, they have added to their attack which could make it more difficult for the Belgian to stroll back into the squad.

On the final day of the transfer window, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang completed a move from Barcelona to Chelsea.
He made his first appearance against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League and could become the leading figure up top this season.
