Inter Milan legend Beppe Bergomi has urged his former club to re-sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.
The Belgian departed Milan at the beginning of last season after scoring 30 goals under Antonio Conte, returning to Chelsea in a club-record £97.5 million move.
However, the forward has struggled to replicate his form from Italy, scoring just half the goals in a controversial season.

Back in December, Lukaku conducted an interview in Italian to repair the relationship with Inter Milan fans, stating that he dreamt of returning to the San Siro one day.
During the sit-down talk with Sky Italia, Lukaku proceeded to criticise the Chelsea system adopted by Thomas Tuchel for not getting the best out of him.
This led to exclusion from the matchday squad to face Liverpool in the next game, with Lukaku being brought back in towards the end of the season but playing a bit-part role as Kai Havertz shone upfront.

It now appears that the 29-year-old is set for a return to Italy as Chelsea could cut ties with their club-record signing after a disappointing return to England.
Due to Inter’s struggling financial situation, they are looking to bring Lukaku back on a two-year loan deal with a view to signing him permanently in the future.
Speaking to Sky Italia on the potential return, Bergomi has discussed Lukaku’s quality and admitted that Inter boss Simone Inzaghi is a fan of the player.
He said: “In November and December Inter played great football, but many times they lacked that player who could get the team up the pitch a little quicker, allowing them to defend a little deeper once they had the result, an emotional leader.

“Lukaku was that player for two seasons at Inter, he was decisive.”
The Inter legend concluded by revealing Inzhagi’s thoughts on the player, stating that he was impressed during their time together at the beginning of the season, when the Italian replaced Conte.
He continued: “Speaking with Inzaghi, he once he told me: ‘I coached him for fifteen days, I have never coached a player of such a high level.'

“If you had to choose, first bring in Lukaku and then the rest follow.”
It remains to be seen as to whether the Belgian will return to the San Siro this summer but a transfer appears to be edging closer, with Chelsea and Inter needing to decide on the make-up of a deal.
