Chelsea will welcome back Kalidou Koulibaly from suspension, while Conor Gallagher misses out due to collecting a second yellow card at the weekend. N'Golo Kante remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

"What you can always expect in Southampton is a physical game, a running game, a high-intensity game," admitted Tuchel ahead of the game on Tuesday night.

"This is what it is. We need to recover well and be well prepared to repeat what we did last season."
