Chelsea’s transfer plans have been revealed as the Blues are set to complete the signing of Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.
The Blues have reached a verbal agreement for the 21-year-old after personal terms have already been agreed regarding a six-year deal.
It appears that Thomas Tuchel has finally got his man after chasing a second central defender to bring in this summer to add to Kalidou Koulibaly’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea face the Foxes on Saturday afternoon, with Fofana set to be excluded from the squad to face his soon-to-be teammates.
However, it looks unlikely that Fofana will be the final addition this summer, with the Blues targeting several other incomings before the end of the window.
Chelsea have already seen several bids rejected for Everton star Anthony Gordon, with Frank Lampard reluctant to let the 21-year-old leave this summer.
Speaking to the press, via the Daily Mail, Lampard admitted: “We have drawn a red line.
“It is very difficult. I got asked last week,
"Will he be here at the end of the window? It was an impossible question to answer, really. But I am working to try and put a squad together.
“There absolutely has to come a time where we understand what the squad is going to be, especially a player of the level of Anthony.
“I have to know he is going to be here and the good thing is here at the club, myself and everybody involved upstairs has the same kind of thinking.
“I won't say where it (the cut-off point) is, but I think you understand I am getting very close to it.”
Furthermore, Chelsea are also in talks with Barcelona over striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they look to add to Tuchel’s frontline.
Chelsea’s latest transfer plans have now been revealed by The Times.
The Blues ownership are aiming to make more signings, with the aforementioned Gordon and Aubameyang seen as the main targets before the end of the summer.
Furthermore, Chelsea remain hopeful of convincing Frenkie de Jong to move from Barcelona, with the Dutch international so far hoping to remain at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona remain keen to get the midfielder’s wages off their finances this summer, with a move to Chelsea still a possibility.
It remains to be seen as to whether Chelsea can complete further deals this summer as we near the end of the summer transfer window.
