In the last match at Stamford Bridge, Tuchel's side came out victorious with 10 men.

Following Conor Gallagher's dismissal, Sterling netted a brace to put Chelsea 2-0 up.

There was a late panic as the Blues conceded to Harvey Barnes, but managed to hold on for the win.

Facing West Ham in a London derby, Chelsea are without new signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria

The former Barcelona striker requires a mask before being available for selection following a jaw injury, while Zakaria was without a work permit on Friday.

N'Golo Kante also remains sidelined, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Reece James are availabel for selection.

James missed the clash against the Saints through illness, while Loftus-Cheek was replaced at half-time.

Chelsea boss Tuchel gave his verdict ahead of the match, stating: "They have periods where they can create huge moments, momentums within minutes.

"They have periods where they dig in and defend deep with a lot of discipline. Always ready to hurt you on counter attacks with speed and physicality. Then a lot of crosses with Soucek arriving in the box for headers with set pieces where they are strong and physical.

"They struggled a little bit getting results and growing into the season. They had also some late signings, which injected a lot of quality and personality.
