Chelsea are set to hold further talks with Inter Milan over Romelu Lukaku's potential loan back to the club, according to reports.
Ahead of the new season, it is looking likely that Lukaku will make a move back to Inter despite joining the Blues last summer for a club record fee.
He was prolific at the San Siro from 2019 to 2021 before he made a return to Chelsea, however his move back to London was nowhere near as successful as many thought it would be.

The Belgian international struggled in front of goal for much of the season, despite such a promising start to his second stint at the club.
Such performances soon raised questions over his future in the English capital, with a departure on the cards this summer.
According to Nathan Gissing, both Chelsea and Inter will soon hold a second meeting to discuss a potential deal for Lukaku ahead of next season.

Todd Boehly, who recently completed his takeover of the Blues along with Clearlake Capital, has been travelling and therefore such talks have not yet taken place, however they could occur in the next few hours.
It is believed that there are ‘positive signals’ from Chelsea regarding the deal, with Lukaku keen on a return to Inter.
The Serie A side have recently seen a €5 million loan fee bid rejected by the strikers’ current suitors, with the World Champions looking for a higher fee in order to allow him to leave.
Both Boehly and Thomas Tuchel share the view that allowing the 29-year-old to go back to Inter ‘represents the best course of action’ as they prepare for a busy transfer window.

However previous reports have suggested that a traditional loan for Lukaku is looking unlikely this summer.
Chelsea are keen to bring in a defender for the new campaign with Inter’s Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni and Denzel Dumfries all being names that the Blues may look to sign.

Despite speculation over what sort of deal will take place for the striker, both of the clubs involved in the deal are confident that a move will be finalised this summer.
Chelsea are also said to still be interested in signing Jules Kounde this summer, despite the centre-back recently undergoing surgery after featuring for France on international duty.
There was belief that he would join from Sevilla last summer but the 23-year-old stayed at the Spanish club, making a further 44 appearances for them last season.
