Chelsea’s new owners have begun their planning for the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge, it has been revealed.
As part of the club’s £4.25 billion takeover by the consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, assurances were made over their planned investment for the club both on and off the pitch.
Investment has already been made on the pitch with the combined £84 million transfer spend to bring Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly to the club.

But one of the biggest commitments from the new ownership group was the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge as they look to increase the capacity, while keeping up with their rivals across England and Europe in terms of revenue.
Chelsea are well behind their rivals in terms of stadium income, and now plans are underway to rebuild Stamford Bridge.
As reported by The Sun, those have started after Todd Boehly appointed architect Janet Marie Smith to oversee the task of rebuilding their west London ground.

Once the rebuilding of Stamford Bridge begins, it will be a staged rebuild, with the stands being replaced and upgraded one by one.
Smith, who is now in charge, has been involved in rebuilding projects such as Baltimore's Oriole Park, Atlanta's Olympic Stadium, the Boston Red Sox's Fenway Park and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
The new owners believe the United States is the best market for the club to experience growth, however they also intend investments in technology and media content.

Speaking at an event while the club were touring the United States, Boehly offered his commitment to the club, saying: "We want to win together by making our fans proud.
"We are committed to driving the resources #Chelsea needs to reach its potential and challenge continuously for silverware."
After confirming the new board last month, Boehly was keen to quickly outline their goals during their ownership of the Blues.

He told the official Chelsea website: "As custodians of Chelsea FC, we now begin executing our long-term vision and plan for the Club, creating an outstanding experience for its passionate, loyal fans, and continuing to challenge for top honours in line with Chelsea FC’s decorated history.
"Working together, side-by-side, we are firmly committed to winning, both on and off the pitch. For us, that effort has begun."
Tom Glick, the club's new President of Business, has also been tasked with 'driving revenue growth' at the club.
When Chelsea will begin rebuilding and redeveloping their home remains unclear, however work is ongoing behind the scenes.

Promises have continued to be made, some legally binding, and the new owners are delivering. Backing of managers and signings first, and now the stadium. The good times at Chelsea are following on from the old regime.
