Chelsea have rejected Inter Milan's opening bid for Romelu Lukaku as they prepare to take him on loan this summer, according to reports.
The Blues’ record signing, who arrived for £97.5 million last summer, had a miserable return to Chelsea and appears ready to cut ties with the club already if he can secure a move to Inter this summer.
Simone Inzaghi is keen to bring Lukaku back to the San Siro, having only worked with the forward for a few weeks before he signed for Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano reveals that Inter have made their opening bid, offering Chelsea a €5 million loan fee this summer.
This has been rejected as Chelsea look for a higher sum for the Milan side to take their £97.5 million man back on loan for the upcoming season.
Talks are set to continue this week after Todd Boehly gave the green light for the transfer, following a meeting with Inter and Lukaku’s representatives.
Boehly has been convinced that allowing Lukaku to return to Inter Milan this summer ‘represents the best course of action’, a stance which is supported by Thomas Tuchel.

It is unclear as to what kind of relationship Tuchel and Lukaku hold, with the Belgian openly criticising Chelsea’s system to the Italian press back in December.
It has been reported that Lukaku will now ‘devote’ himself to leaving the club, just under a year since his return to the club.
The Blues are thought to want at least €20 million to allow Lukaku to complete a loan switch this summer, although they could lower their demands as they look to help Inter with their financial woes.

Lukaku has informed Chelsea that he wants to move to Inter and will not consider other options this summer, leaving the Blues in a tricky negotiating position.
Recent reports have revealed that neither side, Chelsea or Lukaku, wish to see him leave on a permanent basis this summer as a year-long loan at Inter looks to be the most likely outcome.
