Following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday the Chelsea owners held a 15-minute talk with the players at Cobham.
Chelsea announced the arrival of Graham Potter as the new manager on Thursday after the decision to relieve Tuchel of his duties at the club.
He is not the usual type of Head Coach the Blues would go after, he arrives at Stamford Bridge with no experience of coaching a team in the Champions League.

After a very successful stint with Brighton & Have Albion, the west London's side new ownership decided he would be a perfect fit. Despite being on a potential list of candidates that included the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane, Potter was always the priority.
After handing the Englishman a five-year-contract, the plan is for him to be with the Blues for the long term, which has seen him earn a very lucrative pay rise.

The owners are hopeful of creating a new culture at Chelsea and they hope Potter can bring fresh ideas to the table. While the sacking of Tuchel came as a surprise to many Chelsea fans, the board have now got to look to the future.
The same can be said for the players who will now be fighting for places and striving to impress the new boss. On the day of the dismissal, a meeting was held with the first-team squad.
There were also further talks with a collection of the more senior players in the side. The owners shared a consistent message to the players, emphasising the future is bright and that the ambition for the club is to remain competitive at the top level.
Co-owners Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and the rest of the hierarchy held these talks, they acknowledged, as reported by The Independent, it was a "tough day" but they believe it is now "time to turn the page".

They added that the club "believes in them very much" and told the players "We're here because we have your back".
It will be interesting to see how the players settle under a new head coach and they will know they need to buy into his plans as he is set to stay for a long time.

Times are changing at Chelsea, and although the German managers sacking may have seemed rather brutal, in the long run the project may run more smoothly.

Potter was set to take charge of his first game as Chelsea head coach on Saturday against Fulham. However, the Premier League released a statement on Friday confirming that all games will be postponed as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II.
This gives both him and the players more time to familiarise themselves with one another.
Their first game under Potter could come against FC Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.
