The reason why Chelsea decided to grant Graham Potter an earned opportunity by making him the new Head Coach instead of going after "failed coaches" including Mauricio Pochettino has been revealed, according to reports.
The Blues made the decision to sack Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday morning less than a week after the summer transfer window closed.
Acting with haste, the new ownership at Chelsea appointed Potter as the club's new head coach on Thursday. He completed the switch from fellow Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion and signed a five-year-contract with the west London team.

The long-term deal will see him take home £12-million-a-year, a significant increase from his previous job.
The 47-year-old has never managed a Champions League side before, highlighting the faith Chelsea have decided to put despite there being other options on the table.

Potter's managerial journey began in a rather unconventional manner, taking charge of Ostersunds in Sweden.
He first stepped into the role in 2010 when the club were in the worst state they had ever been in. They had been relegated to the fourth tier, in just eight years Potter transformed the side, getting them back to the Allsvenskan, the Swedish top-flight.
The biggest achievement came when they defeated Arsenal in the Europa League in 2017.
Despite losing on aggregate they earned a famous win at The Emirates and Potter's stock had never been higher. He earned a move to Swansea and then to Brighton where he has really succeeded.
The Englishman's career has been one of risk and now he has taken a top-level job that he has truly earned.

As reported by Adam Newson, fresh eyes and ideas were wanted at Stamford Bridge as the club wants to create a new culture.
While the Blues could have opted to chase after some of Europe's 'elite' managers, they decided against this. The new owners believe that coaches who have previously failed at the top clubs should not be afforded the further opportunities they tend to receive.
This is why they have instead decided to put their faith in a manager who is on the rise - Potter.

Potter was set to be in control of his first Chelsea match this Saturday against Fulham. A statement from the Premier League was released on Friday though, and as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II all the games have been postponed.
This means his first league game as head coach could be at Stamford Bridge against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool next Sunday if the game isn't also postponed, with their being major concerns over the fixture taking place in the capital.
