Thomas Tuchel has provided the reason why Armando Broja left the Chelsea squad early to fly back to London following injury and talks of a potential move to West Ham this summer.
Chelsea’s Albanian striker Broja has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with West Ham leading the way for his signature.
Following an impressive breakout season in the Premier League with Southampton last year, where Broja netted six goals, the 20-year-old has been subject to a lot of interest this summer transfer window.

Alongside the Hammers both Everton and Newcastle were keen to bring the attacker in but it is David Moyes’ side who are the closest to a deal.
Previous reports suggested that Broja was set for a loan move to the London Stadium, with Chelsea and Tuchel reluctant to let him leave permanently, suggesting he does have a future at the club should he stay.
West Ham are confident they can get a deal done though and despite Chelsea’s stance on the transfer, it is looking likely a permanent deal could happen.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the clubs are in the final talks with discussions over a potential buy back clause and add-ons.
Broja is ‘now pushing’ for a move to the east London side and flew back to London as the rest of the Chelsea squad travelled to Orlando for their pre-season fixture against Charlotte FC.
Nathan Gissing reported that Broja asked to leave the pre-season squad and that both him and his camp do not want another loan move.
The striker picked up an injury before Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Club America meaning he played no role in the first game of pre-season.

Tuchel spoke on Broja’s departure from the pre-season squad, stating: "Armando had to travel home.
"He had a little accident in training.
"He twisted his ankle and he needs further examinations and treatments in London.
"It didn't make sense to have him as an additional player because we need all capacities of treatment for the guys who are actually fit and on the pitch."

He continued: "So the best way for him to get the best treatment and as soon as possible back on the pitch was to leave for London."
Tuchel will be frustrated if he is to lose Broja, he has previously shared his admiration for the powerful forward, and he would be a great option to have at his disposal for the upcoming season.
The Blues will be rather light at the top end of the pitch if Broja departs, with the only number nine’s in the senior squad being Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Michy Batshuayi.
