UFC’s parent company Endeavor Group is reportedly close to purchasing Vince McMahon’s WWE.

Even with WrestleMania in full swing the biggest news story in the wrestling world comes with the UFC and WWE expected to form a new publicly traded company, per CNBC.

The news comes after McMahon returned to the company after a lengthy hiatus in order to sell the company.

CNBC reports that Endeavor will own 51 per cent of the new company while WWE shareholders will own 49 per cent.

Endeavor Group’s owner Ari Emanuel will act as chief executive of the new enterprise, while McMahon will slot in as executive chairman.

Dana White will remain president of UFC while WWE CEO Nick Khan will serve as president of the wrestling company.

Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reports that ‘Vince McMahon couldn’t have made out better in the deal if it goes through’.

The long time owner of the wrestling juggernaut returned to the company back in January to oversee the selling process.

If the deal does indeed go through it would signal one of the biggest accusations in sports and entertainment history.

With both WWE superstars and UFC fighters some of the biggest names in the industry the opportunity to have both companies intersect could be salivating for fans.

Imagine Conor McGregor rocking up to take on Roman Reigns for the WWE championship.

In fact, the Notorious seemed to be all for the news after tweeting out an image holding of himself holding both the WWE and UFC championships.

Can’t see any other fighter who would be more of a fit for the cross-promotion deal than the Irishman.

It signals a huge turnaround in the business dealings of WWE, after McMahon retired from the company in July amid accusations he paid several women millions to keep quiet about misconduct.

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H stepped in to oversee the running of the company, alongside Khan.

However, upon the 77-year-old’s return, his daughter chose to step down from the company.

It is believed that Triple H is still in charge of creative decisions, however, with Vince more and more involved in the company it remains to be seen whether that will stay the case.
