Drake wins incredible seven-figure bet on UFC 300 fight as fans joke 'the curse is broken'

Drake wins incredible seven-figure bet on UFC 300 fight as fans joke 'the curse is broken'

'Champagne Papi' came up big this weekend...

Canadian rapper Drake is reported to have won an eye-watering $1.2million after Alex Pereira KO'd Jamahal Hill at UFC 300.

Pereira's opening-round success lasted just over three minutes as he successfully defended his light-heavyweight world title.

The Brazilian landed a devastating left hook before finishing Hill on the ground, and Drake followed up by boasting his overall winnings after the fight.

A known gambler on MMA and in particular UFC, Drake is said to have cashed out a massive $1.2m (£1m) after putting down $675,000 (£540,000) on Pereira to emerge victorious.

Pereira was asked if Drake was set to share any of his winnings but insisted he was happy with the outcome regardless.

“If he loses, I’m not going to take any money from him," said the 36-year-old fighter.

"So if he wins, props, thank you very much."

Enjoying an up and down time of it in terms of gambling, Drake also won a staggering $2.7million when Israel Adesanya knocked out Pereira in April last year.

He also claims to have lost $250,000 when Leon Edwards beat Colby Covington at UFC 296 in December 2023.

The popular artist also wagered a huge sum when both Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann won their fights at UFC London in 2022.

He took home a whopping $3.6million (£2.8m) and even rewarded the Liverpudlian pair with luxury Rolex watches after their wins.

Fans online have also joked that Drake's 'curse' is finally broken as whoever the 37-year-old usually backs is often ridiculed heavily when they lose.

"Alex Pereira not only won the fight today at UFC 300 but also destroyed the Drake curs," joked one fan online.

"That Drake diss on Repeat plus the "Drake Curse" didn't work on Pereira, what a time to be alive," added another.

"Drake was due to get his first W," said another.
