To put into perspective how popular the women's game is becoming in Spain, a world record 60,739 fans watched Atletico Madrid host Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Attendance figures for Women's football in Spain have been strong this season, especially in the Primera Division and the Copa de la Reina.

The fact Athletic Bilbao broke the attendance record last month, when 48,121 supporters attended their Copa de la Reina game against Atletico at San Mames, says it all.
Atletico, who are current leaders of the Primera Division, were eventually beaten by Barca thanks to goals from Asisat Oshoala and Toni Duggan.
That means the Catalan giants are just three points behind the league leaders with just six games to go.
To boost attendance figures, tickets for the match were available for free to club members, and €5 for the general public, according to ESPN.

Here's just some of the reaction from social media:
It's great to see the Women's game thriving over in Spain.
