Brazil star 'refusing' to leave Barcelona amid claims the club are ready to let him go this summer

Brazil star 'refusing' to leave Barcelona amid claims the club are ready to let him go this summer

Could a return to the Premier League be on the cards?

Barcelona are reportedly pushing hard to cut their losses on one of their Brazilian stars.

Xavi's side have seen a sudden influx of academy talents surge to popularity this season, with Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal all rising to stardom.

The Catalian giants beat Las Palmas 1-0 in La Liga recently and it was the goalscorer in that win who is reportedly unhappy at the Nou Camp.

According to Forbes via SPORT, Raphinha is unhappy at the amount of game time he is currently receiving in the side.

Having signed from Leeds United in the summer of 2022, the Brazilian has been thwarted by the progress of Yamal this season and has struggled to regain a spot in Xavi's plans.

According to unnamed sources, interest from Saudi Arabia and England could perhaps begin to turn the 27-year-old's head.

Set to depart at the end of the season, head coach Xavi has insisted that talk of the winger's play time as of late do not help his side.

"I don't think talking about whether he is a starter or non-starter is important for us, he is a very important footballer for our team," he began.

"He was outstanding in many matches throughout the season, and today was no different."

With six goals and ten assists to his name already this term, Raphinha has started just 13 top-flight outings for Barca.

Injuries have halted his progress albeit and the forward has remain tight-lipped on speculation surrounding a potential move away.

Under contract until 2027, the former Rennes star was linked with a move to Chelsea but instead opted to move to Barcelona.

Speaking after the Catalan giants claimed the La Liga title last year, he told Spanish press: “This is my first trophy with this giant club, this enormous shirt of FC Barcelona - it’s incredible.

"And so now we go for more trophies.”
