Gary Lineker presented Match of the Day in his underwear after Leicester City won the Premier League

Gary Lineker has vowed to present Match of the Day in his underwear again on one condition.

Back in 2016, former England striker Lineker was forced to present the popular football highlights show in just his underwear after Leicester City won the Premier League.

The Foxes pulled off arguably the biggest shock in Premier League history after finishing first having been priced at 5000/1 at the start of the season.

Under Claudio Ranieri, Leicester finished 10 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Match of the Day podcast, Lineker recalled that magical season.

Co-host Alan Shearer said: “They were deadly that season, weren't they?”

Lineker replied: “I mean Jamie Vardy, that run he had…”

Micah Richards then said: “Is that when you came out presenting Match of the Day with your pants on?”

After Lineker had explained the situation, Richards asked whether the former striker would repeat the feat if Leicester got promoted.

Lineker said: “If Leicester won the league again, I'll do it.”

Shearer then said: “Even the Championship?”

Lineker then quickly made it clear that it would have to be the Premier League, a disappointed Richards replied: “They're not going to win the Premier League again are they?”

At this point, Lineker said: “Micah, do you want to see me in my pants in my sixties?”

After their bitterly disappointing relegation from the Premier League last season, the Foxes are one of the firm favourites to bounce straight back up to the top flight.

Under new boss Enzo Maresca, who worked alongside Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Leicester have won 10 of their first 11 league matches.

Currently, they are already 10 points ahead of third place Ipswich, who sit just outside of the automatic promotion places.
