Chelsea decide the four players to sell this summer including one Todd Boehly signing

Chelsea have reportedly decided on the four players they are willing to sell this summer in a bid to avoid FFP issues.

Chelsea have spent over £1 billion on transfers since Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali took over the club from Roman Abramovich in 2022, but the investments have delivered little on-field success.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are currently 11th in the Premier League table, and look certain to miss out on qualifying for European competition for a second successive season.

Off the field, things aren't going too smoothly either.

According to The Telegraph, speculation is growing among Chelsea's rivals that the club need to raise around £100 million by the end of June this year in order to avoid breaching the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The regulations prohibit teams from recording losses of over £105 million over a three-year period, with each financial year ending on June 30.

This financial year Chelsea have already brought in over £100m by selling Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Ethan Ampadu.

However, they have spent over £448.5m on players - including the £115 million British record signing of Moises Caicedo - leaving them with a deficit of over £200m for this year alone.

Chelsea sources have told The Telegraph that they are under no pressure to bring in fees before the June 30 deadline, although they are reportedly looking to offload Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja, and could also let go of Conor Gallagher and Marc Cucurella.

The latter was one of the first signings of the Boehly era, costing Chelsea £56m.

Newcastle's obligation to buy Lewis Hall will guarantee Chelsea £28m, while loaned-out striker Romelu Lukaku should bring in at least £30m thanks to the £37m release clause in his contract.

Failing that, Chelsea proved last year that they can bring in money quick.

The London club raised over £130 million from the sales of Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, Mateo Kovacic, Kai Havertz and Ruben Loftus-Cheek before June 30, 2023.
