Kylian Mbappe’s future is set to be announced imminently, it has been claimed.

On Tuesday Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund and 2-0 on aggregate to be knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage.

Leading by one goal from the first leg, Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels rose highest to head home from Julian Brandt's corner five minutes into the second period.

Valiant defending and a large chunk of luck - PSG hit the woodwork four times in the second half, and on six occasions across the tie - edged Dortmund to victory.

The Bundesliga outfit earned their place in the Champions League final at Wembley on June 1, where they will play either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Mbappe’s last game in PSG colours has ended in disappointment, with the World Cup winner having failed to impose himself on the tie.

Indeed, the Frenchman’s future could be announced imminently.

Back in February, it was widely reported that Mbappe had agreed to join Real this summer, having told the PSG hierarchy he intends to leave the club once his contract expires in June.

Several publications, including the BBC, claimed that while Mbappe had not yet signed a contract with the Spanish giants, a deal would be announced once it was no longer possible for the clubs to meet in this season’s Champions League.

Of course, PSG’s elimination to Dortmund means Mbappe can no longer feature against Real before the end of the season.

Mbappe reportedly met with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in February and told him he was leaving and joining Real.

He is allegedly set to sign a five-year deal with Real, earning 15million euros (£12.8million) a season, plus a 150million euro (£128million) signing-on bonus to be paid over five years. Moreover, he will keep a percentage of his image rights.
